5/5/2012, 华夏总校第十四届田径运动会在新泽西的中部分校举行。大费城分校派出了一百一十名学生和家长的队伍参赛，并以281的高分再次获得田径团体总分第一名。Congratulations! |

3/11/2012, all parents meeting was held in EH cafeteria. Principal Huang introduced school financial operation details. Despite increased rental fee by West Chester School District, our school has decided to keep the same tuition rate for 2012-2013 school years. Parents committee chair Jiao expressed the desire of involving more parents into the on-going school operation and encouraged participation for the upcoming events: year-end closing ceremony and T&F event. Some parents asked questions regarding classes change in the next school year. After the meeting, school leaders had cordial talk with parents. This meeting is productive and meaningful to school improvement. |

3/10/2012, the school summoned all student volunteers and treated them to a dinner in Chinese Grace Buffet. Principal Huang and parents committee chair Jiao made a short speech to all volunteers to express their sincere appreciations to their volunteer work in the past few years. After the dinner, the youths continued the party with some fun games and Karaoke. Hopefully the students could learn the real significance of serving the community through this event and continue to put effort into the future school operation. |

十二月十日上午九点，华夏中文教学研讨会暨教师年会在位于费城的Radisson Hotel Valley Forge（丽笙酒店）大会堂拉开帷幕。来自美国多个州市近四百名中外人士出席了会议.各界人士对大会的召开表示热烈祝贺。大会紧紧围绕着教学本土化的主题和美国外语教学5C(即沟通-Communication、文化-Culture、贯连-Connection、比较-Comparison和社区-Community)的标准开办近40场专题讲座。把这所一贯以教学为本，注重教师培训中文学校, 推到一个新的高度,并为华夏成为北美华文教育的‘藤校’迈出了实质性的一步。这次会议聚集二十多位知名专家，教授和海外中文教学领域的领军人物。会议在热烈的气氛中给本年度的各分校杰出贡献者颁发了证书。我校林虹老师获取了杰出贡献者证书。十二月十一日会议在紧凑热烈气氛中胜利落下帷幕。老师们对会议的主题,培训内容和方式给予了极高的评价。华夏大费城分校为这次大会付出了巨大的努力和无私的奉献。

10/22/2011, For 2nd year in a roll, 20 of HXGV students and parents attended the Greater Philadelphia Cares Day 2011, and were part of 300 volunteers that contributed 2,400 volunteer hours in clean-up service at Charles R. Drew Elementary School in Philadelphia. Check out the photos

4/10/2011, 我校有12名选手参加了华夏总校一年一度的辩论赛。今年的辩题围绕“中国家长的教育方式好还是不好”展开辩论。3-6年级组获得了本年级组第二名，他们是正方：郭小阳，万啸天，陈宁宇；反方：刘竹艺，王争鸣，赵书桓。7年级以上组获得了本年级组第三名，他们是正方：肖雨格，郭肇南，薛涧石；反方：康越，向天宜，李贝贝。此外, 郭小阳获得本年级组最佳辩论手称号。本次比赛的指导老师张缨，杨静；领队郭京敏和刘慧青；摄像万凯科。向所有参赛的同学表示祝贺!

4/10/2011, 我校召开全体家长大会，全票通过选举任命了2011-2012年度董事会6位成员和家长会会长。现任董事长代表本届组委会感谢在过去的两年里所有义务员工的辛勤付出! In addition, school operation updates and revised registration policy were reviewed by all parents.

2/27/2011, the second Board meeting of this school year was held. Board Chair Dongmei Wang updated team the activities and board meeting minutes from HX headquarter. Board members reviewed school financial reports, which were presented by Principal Gren Wang and Accountant Mingqi Zhu, and adjusted the budget. Parent Committee Chair Libin Wang presented the plan for seminars, Huxia Track&Field and year-end picnic. Mingqi Zhu was nominated to be an interim board member to replace Yichen Wei and will go through electoral procedure at all-parent meeting in early April. Seminar guidelines were discussed and revised post meeting. The board meeting minutes will be presented to parents at the end of the year.

2011年2月12日晚华夏中文学校大费城分校暨Desmond Hotel举办了 2011年新春答谢会以感谢无私奉献的学校干部，老师和他们的配偶对学校工作的支持。五十多位与会者珍惜这一难得的机会, 冒着寒冷，欢聚一堂。 学校的董事长，校长和家长会会长对大家为学校过去一年做出的贡献及家属的大力支持表示衷心的感谢! 集体游戏更使得晚会现场波澜起伏，给在场每一位带来了欢声笑语，让大家感受到了华夏大家庭般的温馨。窗外的寒冷气候挡不住华夏的热情, 也体现学校负责层的集体责任感，更体现出华夏的活力和凝聚力！ 华夏中文学校大费城分校新春答谢会在愉快地笑声中圆满结束了. 天气依旧寒冷，但欢乐正当时，大家互道新年好，对2011年充满了希望, 对不断发展的华夏大费城分校充满了信心. 带着祝愿、带着嘱托、让我们一起同心同德托起明天华夏的辉煌。

2/3/2011, partnering with YMCA to promote Chinese culture, our teacher and parent volunteer team went to the Lionville Community YMCA in Exton to celebrate Chinese New Year with children there. Over 70 kids had a chance to appreciate the traditions of Spring Festival celebration through an animated slides show, participating in paper cutting and origami activities, and enjoying the exciting Yoyo performance from our yoyo class students. This is another step to integrate our culture into mainstream society. We want our voice to be heard, our presence to be noticed, and our culture to be well recognized; so that our kids will not only survive but thrive in this country.

12/18/2010, 在由大田豆品厂暨海华都市报主办，华夏樱桃山分校协办的费城地区中文演讲比赛发奖大会上， 我校的郭晓阳和郝泽西同学分别获得了四到六年级组和七年级以上组的一等奖。谭见瑞和姚雨夕同学分别获得了K至三年级组的二,三等奖。肖雨格同学获得了七年级以上组的二等奖。张缨老师当选为首次费城地区最佳中文教师！我们学校的小品表演也取得了巨大成功！Congratulations! |

Our first Board meeting this school year was held on Oct. 24. Principal Wang Zongren presented 2009-2010 review and 2010-2011 plans for school operation and budget. Parent Committee Chair Wang Libin presented activity event plans and budget. The Board meeting minutes for last year and 2009-2010 School Year Income Statement will be published to parents soon. |

As a pilot program, ten (10) of HXGV senior students attended the Philadelphia Cares Day 2010 on Saturday, October 16, 2010 and were part of 200 volunteers that contributed 1,600 volunteer hours in clean-up service for Woodrow Wilson Middle School (“WWMS”) in Northeast Philadelphia. In turn, our HXGV students got better understanding of true meaning of “Giving back to the community”. |

一年一度的华夏中文学校教师年会将于2010年10月9日周六举行。本届年会将以加强华夏教师中文教学能力为目标，更好地适应目前汉语教学在美飞速发展的要求。年会将以“海外中文教学：拓展、深化、提高”为主题，有针对性地邀请该领域的专家、学者来讲学。华夏大费城分校将派出14个老师组成的代表团，与华夏其它中文学校的老师们一起探讨教学经验。华夏大费城分校教师代表团也将充分利用这一机会，相互学习、相互探讨。 |
